FRAUD ACTIVITY INCREASE ALERT

LAPFCU has recently seen increases in attempts to gain access to members’ accounts via online and mobile banking.

If you suspect fraud, please contact us immediately at (877) 695-2732.

  • Never give anyone – even someone who claims to be an LAPFCU employee – your password or secure login code.
  • Enable alerts so you will receive messages when there are transactions on your accounts. Visit “Settings” in online and mobile banking to receive alerts.
  • Do not respond to emails or text messages with links asking you enter login or password information, or to log in to online or mobile banking.
  • Check your account history regularly for any suspicious activity or transactions you do not recognize. This includes reviewing payees! Ensure there are no payees you do not recognize or did not add yourself!
  • Use complex passwords that cannot be guessed, and change your passwords periodically.
  • Keep your devices up-to-date with the latest operating system updates.
  • Use reputable antivirus software.
  • Use an industry-leading identity theft and fraud prevention service, such as FraudScout, and receive a discount for being an LAPFCU member.
